In the tenth basic floral design course we focused on sympathy designs. Our project was to make a fan-shaped sympathy tribute. The challenge of this design, as you can see, was the size – mine ended up more than 4 feet wide at the base!
This exercise wasn’t meant for us to get it perfect, but to get us used to working outside of our tiny comfort zone. We were using bigger ribbon, bigger flowers, and bigger greens. With the foam showing in the back, this design isn’t “finished,” it wouldn’t go out of a store like this, but rather “roughed in.”
